Hanging scroll presenting the Amida Buddha standing on a lotus base, his hands in jōbon geshō gesture, representing one of the nine ways to enter Paradise. The body of the Buddha is formed by the characters Amida Butsu 阿弥陀佛.

Above the image are two myogo:
Namu Fukashigi ko nyorai (I entrust myself to the Unfathomable Radiant Tathagata) and
Kimyo Jinjippo Mugeko Nyorai (I take refuge in the Tathāgata of Unobstructed Light in the Ten Directions)

To the left and right of the Buddha text stating that this images was created after a certain statue carved by Shinran?

The painting itself is a bit folky, but the calligraphy around it is certainly done in good handwriting. Possibly two different people were at work in the one painting.

Paper mounting, typical for first quarter of the 20th century; wooden scroll ends.

Ink on paper. Japan, ca. 1920s

Image 46 x 11.25 in.
Mounting 72 x 16.4 in.
Width at scroll ends 18.5 in.

Paper toned, back of mounting with brown spots (visible on the front borders if you look closely), restored worm damage in margins of the painting itself. In good hanging order.
