Very simple but functional yatate, portable writing set made of yellow bronze, or brass (called sentoku in Japanese). The set consists of a compartment for ink and a long hollow tube for the brush. The tube could be simply stuck into the sash of the male dress or suspended from it with a cord attached to the looped ring around the tube. The set comes with a simple brush (NOT functional).

Beautiful natural patina from wearing and handling; the cover of the inkwell and the suspension ring have been repaired (soldered). Very wabi sabi. Brush with moth damage (beyond repair)
